Complainant Name:
Mr Luke Walker

Clauses Noted: 1, 5

Publication: Liverpool Daily Post (Welsh edition)

Mr Luke Walker of Hough Green complained that an inquest report into the tragic death of his brother, Gregg Walker, contained inaccuracies and intruded into his and his familys grief.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper which removed the original article from its website published a follow-up article in tribute to the complainants brother. At the end of this article, the newspaper published the following correction and apology:

An inquest report of October 16, headlined Cyclist missing near Dolgellau died from exposure, stated that Gregg Walkers body had been found 800m from the road and that the body had turned a bright red cherry colour. In fact, Mr Walkers body was discovered a short distance from the road 800m from where his bike was found and the post-mortem report noted that his blood was a cherry red colour. We are happy to put the record straight and apologise to Mr Walkers family for any distress caused.
