Complaint:

Professor Christopher Harvie MSP complained that an article reporting on his contribution to a debate about broadcasting in the Scottish Parliament had reversed the order of comments he had made relating to the respective attitudes to reporting of Lord Reith and Hitler, and the “evil doing” of Blue Peter.

Resolution:

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper attached the following clarification to the online version of its article:

To resolve Professor Harvie's complaint to the Press Complaints Commission, we are happy to make it clear that our report was based on copy from the Press Association which reversed the order of his speech in the Scottish Parliament. He had initially referred to the respective attitudes to reporting ofHitler and Lord Reith, and then went on to cite the "evil-doing" of Blue Peter.
