Complainant Name:
Lord Ahmed of Rotherham

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Daily Mail

Complaint:

Lord Ahmed of Rotherham complained that comments he had made about Geert Wilders’ refused entry to Britain had been misreported: he had not said that Mr Wilders “should” be put on trial for inciting hatred in his country of origin, but that he was to be prosecuted in his own country for inciting racial hatred.

Resolution:

The newspaper provided the reporter’s notes in support of its position that the complainant had been quoted accurately. However, it removed the article from its website and annotated its databases with the complainant’s concern. The complaint was resolved on this basis.

Report: 79
