Complainant Name:
Mr Allan Peters

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: The Mail on Sunday

Mr Allan Peters complained, through Swan Turton, solicitors, that an article inaccurately suggested that he had attended a skiing trip for Royal Protection Officers to Klosters paid for by the taxpayer. He made clear that he was in Klosters on a private skiing trip, which he had funded entirely himself. He retired from the Police service ten years ago.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper published the following apology:

On April 5 we said retired police officer Allan Peters had been with a party of Royal protection officers at the Klosters ski resort. We would like to make clear Mr Peters was there on a private holiday at his own expense and we apologise for any mistaken impression.
