Ms Mandy Demba complained that an article giving a third partys account of a relationship breakdown inaccurately referred to her playing a role in that breakdown.

The matter was resolved when the magazine published the following letter from the complainant:

In September ("Fake it to make it...") you told the story of Jane Ngarmadji, who was married to Michael Nwadike. In the article, Jane said that she found out Michael and I had been in a relationship throughout the time that they were married. This is untrue. I first met Michael in 2002 and during 2003 and 2004 we did have a romantic relationship but that came to an end before he met Jane. I only met Michael again in August 2007 when we met as old friends. We saw each other a couple more times before Jane rang me and announced that she was Michael's wife.

After Jane threw Michael out, he arrived on my doorstep a few hours later. He explained he hadn't told me of his marriage because he knew I'd have nothing to do with him. Michael did move into my home for a short while but he left - at my request - at the end of December 2008.
