Mr Andrew Pyle of Castle Douglas complained that the newspaper had misleadingly suggested that a new school due to open, of which the complainant was headteacher, was connected to the previous school on the site, which had been the subject of extensive controversy.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper offered to publish the following statement:

On 24th March we reported on the opening of a new school at Kilquhanity, Castle Douglas. We would like to make it clear that the new school is opening as Kilquhanity Childrens Village and is not in any way connected or related to Kilquhanity House, the former school on the site which closed in 1997. We are happy to set the record straight.
