Paul Golding of the British National Party complained to the Press Complaints Commission that an article was inaccurate in suggesting that the party had tried to hire a martial arts expert to train members in close combat fighting.

The newspaper said it had obtained the story from a PR agency. However, in light of the BNP's denial of the claims it agreed to remove the story from its website. The newspaper also confirmed that it had no intention of republishing the claims.
