Mr Gareth Hughes, Deputy Chief Executive of the Marston Group, complained to the Press Complaints Commission that a January 2009 article on the newspaper's website - which suggested that the actions of a bailiff were connected to the death of a pensioner - was inaccurate and misleading. A report commissioned by Jack Straw had subsequently made clear that there was "no connection between the bailiff activities carried out that day" and the death.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper removed the article from its website.
