Ms Cheryl Cole complained to the Press Complaints Commission through David Price Solicitors and Advocates that an article was inaccurate when it reported that she had said "I won't be a ******* doormat".

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following wording in the newspaper and online:

Our February 24 article about Cheryl Cole's split with Ashley quoted her as saying "I won't be a ******* doormat". Cheryl wishes to make clear that she did not say that and we are happy to accept her denial.
