Sharif Nashashibi, Chairman of Arab Media Watch, complained to the Press Complaints Commission that a comment piece had contained inaccuracies about the Israeli blockade of Gaza.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated for the publication of the following letter from the complainant:

Israel bans broad range of goods that pose no threat

It is outrageous that Frederick Forsyth can claim that Israel permits ‘only non-aggressive materials' into Gaza, and that ‘only weapons, ammunition, explosive and rocket parts are banned' ("Arabs blockade Gaza as well", June 11).

It has long been common knowledge, and widely reported, that Israel bans a broad range of goods that pose no threat to its security.
