Madeleine Morgan complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had published an inaccurate and misleading statistic in an opinion article.


The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following clarification:


An Opinion article ("Are you a winner or loser in the immigration battle?", June 8) said that more than 95 per cent of new jobs created under Labour went to immigrants. To clarify, this percentage related to working-age individuals in employment in the private sector, and excluded UK nationals born outside the UK.
