Complainant Name:
Mrs Kelly Liddiatt

Clauses Noted: 1, 5

Publication: Bristol Evening Post

Mrs Kelly Liddiatt complained to the Press Complaints Commission that an article reporting on her father's death was inaccurate and misleading and intruded into the family's grief. She was also concerned that the article had been illustrated by a photograph of her father which she had previously provided to the newspaper for a different reason.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper published a correction and apology and a follow-up article, in addition to removing the photograph from the online version of the article and from its archives. The newspaper also held a private meeting with the complainant.
