Complainant Name:
Mr Paul Scott

Clauses Noted: 1, 2

Publication: The Sun

Mr Paul Scott complained to the Press Complaints Commission that a journalist from the newspaper had engaged in misrepresentation and that the comments attributed to him in the article were taken out of context. The newspaper denied that it had engaged in any manner of misrepresentation and provided a transcript of the reporter's shorthand notes.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the removal of the reference to the complainant and his family and a photograph depicting him from the online article.
