Mr Jason Sinclair complained to the Press Complaints Commission that an article reporting on a study into the relative merits of buying as opposed to renting a home was inaccurate and misleading.


The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following clarification:

We have been asked to make clear that the comparisons in the research were between renting and an interest-only mortgage at 5 per cent, which would require the repayment of capital at the end of the term.
