Ms Dorothy Dorrington of London complained to the Press Complaints Commission that a newspaper's report of her son's court case contained a number of inaccuracies.

The matter was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following correction:

Further to a report on a court case in our October 6 edition, we would like to make it clear that although Marc Dorrington was convicted of grievous bodily harm with intent, he entered a plea of not guilty. Additionally, while he did receive a community order for a previous conviction, the trial took place in his absence as he was working abroad at the time. We are sorry for any distress caused by any omissions in our article.
