Clauses Noted: 14

Publication: Daily Mail

A man complained to the Press Complaints Commission that an article had named him and made clear his previous occupation despite written confirmation that he would not be identified, in breach of Clause 14 of the Editors' Code.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper - which took full responsibility for the error and explained the circumstances in which it had occurred - wrote a private letter of apology to the complainant and made a donation to a charity of his choice.
