Jim Allan complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had published a court report detailing his mother's conviction for fraud which contained a number of inaccuracies.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following correction and apology in the newspaper:

Mr Jim Allan

An article (24 June) reported Margaret Logan's conviction for fraud but incorrectly mentioned Ms Logan's son "Alan" and his "girlfriend". The report, based on agency copy, should have referred to Mr Jim Allan and his male partner. We apologise for this error and have also been asked to make clear that while draft versions of two wills were found on Mr Allan's computer, they did not carry the names of Ms Logan or her dead ex-husband Mr Steele.
