Publication: Oldham Chronicle

Complaint:

Ms Cristina Santos from London complained to the Press Complaints Commission about an article which reported that the Ministry of Justice had awarded Applied Language Solutions a contract to provide translation and interpretation services. The complainant said that the article was inaccurate as, at the time of publication, no framework agreement had been signed.

Resolution:

The newspaper accepted that the framework agreement had not been signed at the time of publication; however, it did not consider its report, which was based on an ALS press release, was inaccurate in a manner requiring correction. The complainant accepted the newspaper's explanation and the matter was resolved on this basis.
