Complainant Name:
Simon Oxenham

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Hull Daily Mail

Mr Simon Oxenham complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper contained a number of inaccuracies about the drug "Mano 10". He said that the article had failed to make clear that the drug in question was Diazepam and was not therefore new. He also stated the assertions that, taken in large doses, the drug caused the same effects as amphetamines or heroine and that benzodiazepine was a prescribed anti-depressant were incorrect, and disputed the police's concerns the pills could be laced with heroin.

The newspaper stated that its information had come from the police and a member of a drug support group. However, the complaint was resolved when the newspaper agreed to remove the article from its website.
