Ms Bethan Davies complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had published a number of inaccuracies in regard to an interview she had done with the journalist. She stated that the article has misrepresented her comments about the lifestyle of her parents.

The complainant was resolved when the newspaper altered the online article, made a goodwill payment, and published the following apology:

Following a feature on August 1 about how the older generation are enjoying retirement while their offspring struggle to make ends meet, Bethan Davies, who was one of the case studies, has asked us to clarify that her parents have always been financially supportive of her and her brother. We apologise if a contrary impression was given.
