Mark Gibbison complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had published misleading information in a report of his conviction for causing death by dangerous driving.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following clarification:

Mark Gibbison

The report in our edition of July 22 of the sentencing of Mark Gibbison in relation to a drink driving charge contained a quoted remark which may have carried the inference that Mr Gibbison had admitted in court to regularly drinking eight or nine pints and feeling capable of driving home. Mr Gibbison has asked us to point out that no such admission was made by him or on his behalf.
