Complainant Name:
Mrs Kate Adams-Moor

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: The People

Mrs Kate Adams-Moor complained to the Press Complaints Commission that an article inaccurately stated that she blamed government cuts to the NHS for the loss of her son, Louis, who had been born prematurely.

The matter was resolved when the PCC negotiated a personal letter to the complainant and the publication of the following apology:

Kate and Peter Adams-Moor - Apology

On June 12 2011, we published an interview with Kate Adams-Moor concerning the tragic death of her son, who was born prematurely. In the article and the headline, we incorrectly stated that Mrs Adams-Moor blamed the loss of her child on health cuts to the NHS. We accept that Mrs Adams-Moor, in her praise of the doctors and nurses who looked after her, did not "slam" or blame cuts to the NHS. We wish to apologise to Mr and Mrs Adams-Moor for the upset and distress caused to them and their family.
