Complainant Name:
Sarfraz Khan

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Metro

Sarfraz Khan complained to the Press Complaints Commission through Nelson Guest solicitors that the newspaper had published a report of his conviction for driving under the influence of a class B drug but had not made clear that he had subsequently been cleared on appeal.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated publication of the following clarification:

Bus driver Sarfraz Khan, found guilty of steering his double decker while high on cannabis, has been cleared on appeal. Mr Khan's conviction, which we reported in Metro on February 2, was quashed at Southwark crown court.
