Ms Vanessa Letts from London complained to the Press Complaints Commission about an article which reported that MP Kate Hoey had ‘called for a cull' on urban foxes. The complainant said that the article gave the false impression that she supported such action. However, she was particularly concerned that - despite her making clear that she did not want details of the recent attack on her daughter's guinea pigs included in the piece - the newspaper had proceeded to publish this information and caused distress to her children.

The matter was resolved when the PCC negotiated a private letter of apology to the complainant.
