A man on behalf of Dr Dinabandhu Sarkar complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had published an article reporting on Dr Sarkar's General Medical Council hearing which was inaccurate and misleading in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following clarification in the newspaper:

Further to an article of 19 October (Doctor struck off for serious clinical errors"), lawyers acting on behalf of former Grimsby doctor Dr Dinabandhu Sarkar have confirmed that an appeal has been lodged against the findings of the General Medical Council and the doctor remains suspended, but not struck off, until the outcome of that appeal.
