Ms Louise Douglas of housing agency, Regenda, complained to the Press Complaints Commission about an article which reported a tenant's claim that she had found slug's in her son's room. The complainant explained that there was no evidence of slugs when its staff and contractors visited the property. She was also concerned that the article suggested that Regenda had been slow to react to tenant's concerns.

The matter was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following statement:

In an article on November 17 The Gazette reported that a reader had called on landlords Regenda to carry out urgent repairs to her property following concerns about damaged plasterwork. The article included a statement from the resident that she had found slugs in her son's bedroom. Regenda has asked us to make clear that there was no evidence of slugs at this property when Regenda staff and contractors visited her property. All repairs to the damaged plasterwork were also completed within six working days of the resident's initial report to Regenda.
