Mr Andrew Morgan

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: The Sun

Mr Andrew Morgan complained to the Press Complaints Commission that an article reporting on Burns Night inaccurately reported that the poet Robert Burns lived and worked in the West Indies in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following correction:

Rod Liddle's column of January 25 claimed that Robert Burns had lived and worked in the West Indies. In fact, this was not the case as Mr Burns accepted a post in Jamaica but changed his mind after successfully publishing his poetry. We are happy to set the record straight.
