A man complained to the Press Complaints Commission under Clause 7 (Children in sex cases) and 11 (Victims of sexual assault) that an article had included sufficient information to identify his 14-year-old daughter as the victim of a sexual assault.

The matter was resolved when the newspaper wrote to the complainant, sincerely apologising for what it viewed as a serious breach of its journalistic standards, as well as providing assurances about internal action that had been taken as a response to the error.
