Publication: Scottish Daily Mail

Christine Grahame MSP complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had published inaccuracies in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The matter was resolved directly between the parties, following the complainant's approach to the PCC, with the publication of the following correction and apology in the newspaper's Clarifications & corrections column:

An article on December 28 stated that Christine Grahame MSP had failed to obey an order to repaint her constituency office in Galashiels from Holyrood officials issued to all MSPs as the rules for logos had been changed. In fact, Ms Grahame had complied with instructions to paint her office and the work was carried out on December 22. We also erroneously stated that the repainting order was given by the Justice Committee, when in fact no such order had been issued. Indeed, the Parliament's Presiding Officer was aware that repainting was ‘in hand' simply awaiting competitive quotes and weather conditions to allow it to commence. We apologise to Ms Grahame for these errors.
