Complainant Name:
A woman

Clauses Noted: 1, 3, 6

Publication: The People

A woman complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had named her and her son in coverage that reported details of a man's complicated love life. The complainant was concerned that the information given across a series of four online articles engaged the terms of Clauses 1 (Accuracy), 3 (Privacy) and 6 (Children) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper removed the names of the complainant and her son from the articles under complaint and wrote privately to the family to apologise for the distress caused.
