Mr Carl Waring complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the article, which had reported on redundancy payments for BBC staff, had breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice. The complainant considered that the article had misleadingly implied that BBC staff had received redundancy payments and had continued to work in the same jobs.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following correction:

"An article on 15 February suggested that seventeen BBC workers had carried on in the same jobs after accepting redundancy money of £57,000 each. We are happy to clarify that, while their leaving dates were delayed, the workers did not in fact receive their pay-offs until they had left".
