Complainant Name:
Mr Oliver Gray

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: The Daily Telegraph

Complaint:

Mr Oliver Gray complained on behalf of Lizzy Dive to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice. He was concerned that the newspaper had incorrectly claimed that Ms Dive, who had been playing Mrs Twit in a stage production of the Twits, had sustained concussion when accidently hit by a kettle.

Resolution:

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following wording:

The Twits

An article on Jun 19 about a theatrical production of The Twits reported that Lizzy Dive, an actress, was concussed after being hit on stage by a kettle. We are happy to make clear that Ms Dive suffered minor bruising, not concussion.
