Complainant Name:
Mr Adam Wood

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Daily Mail

Mr Adam Wood complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) in an article about drugs. He was particularly concerned that the newspaper had printed that the drug ‘Meow Meow' had caused one user "to rip off his own scrotum". The complainant stated that the claim had been revealed as a hoax.

The matter was resolved when the PCC negotiated the amendment of the online article and the publication of a clarification at the foot of the article indicating that the earlier version contained an error.
