Complainant Name:
Mr Iain Simcock

Clauses Noted: 1, 2, 3

Publication: The Scottish Sun

Mr Iain Simcock complained to the Press Complaints Commission that two articles, which reported his dismissal by Glasgow Cathedral, had breached the terms of Clauses 1 (Accuracy), 2 (Opportunity to reply) and 3 (Privacy) of the Editors‘ Code of Practice.

While the newspaper did not accept that its article had contravened the terms of the Editors' Code of Practice, the complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the removal of the articles from the newspaper's website.
