Adrian Evans

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: The Times

Adrian Evans complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice when it published a Saturday Review section which claimed to include a 7-day TV & Radio Guide. The complainant had purchased the newspaper, only to discover that this was not the case.

The newspaper said that it had dropped the TV guide in that issue in favour of extended Olympic coverage and an apology had already been published explaining the position. The complaint was resolved when the newspaper provided the complainant with a booklet of vouchers, redeemable against the cover price of the newspaper.
