Complainant Name:
Honest Reporting

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Daily Mail

Complaint:

Simon Plosker, Managing Editor of Honest Reporting, complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had inaccurately reported the location of Israel's government, in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice. The complainant stated that Israel's government was based in Jerusalem, not Tel Aviv.

Resolution:

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the amendment of the online article and a printed correction to read:

A report on 23 August mistakenly suggested that Israel's government was in Tel Aviv when it is, of course, in Jerusalem.
