Complainant Name:
A man

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Stirling News

Complaint:

A man complained to the Press Complaints Commission about the publication of three articles which had, in his view, breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The articles reported on allegations which the complainant had faced, relating to his conduct as a police officer. It was the complainant's position that the articles had presented these allegations as having been proved, when this was not the case.

Resolution:

While the newspapers did not accept the complainant's position, the PCC was able to negotiate the removal of the online articles as a resolution to the complaint.
