Complainant Name:
Two women

Clauses Noted: 1, 3, 10

Publication: Islington Tribune

Two women complained to the Press Complaints Commission under Clauses 1 (Accuracy), 3 (Privacy) and 10 (Clandestine devices and subterfuge) of the Editors' Code of Practice about an article which mentioned allegations of racism against them.

While the newspaper made clear that it had not employed clandestine devices or subterfuge to produce the article, the matter was resolved when the PCC negotiated the removal of the complainants' names, as well as statements that had been attributed to them, from the online article.
