Complainant Name:
Mr Foysol Choudhury

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: The Scotsman

Complaint:
Mr Foysol Choudhury complained to the Press Complaints Commission under Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice about articles which claimed that his son, Ikram Choudhury, had tweeted a photograph of a hit-and-run victim as he lay dying in the road. The complainant said that - while his son had taken the image of the man as he lay in the road - this occurred prior to the fatal collision.

Resolution:

The matter was resolved when the PCC negotiated the amendment of the online articles and a private letter to the complainant, acknowledging that the photograph was taken before the man was hit by the vehicle.
