Complainant Name:
Paul Boseley

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Daily Mirror

Complaint:

Paul Boseley complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had breached Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice, as it had published an article on a trial in 2007 in which it appeared that he was guilty of rape but failed to report on a retrial in which he was found not guilty.

Resolution:

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the publication of the following clarification at the bottom of the online article reporting on the 2007 trial:

Since the publication of this article in 2007, Paul Boseley was acquitted following retrial. Mr Boseley was found not guilty of rape and formally discharged on 21 July 2008.
