Mr Ben Dyson complained to the Press Complaints Commission under Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code that an article reporting that taxpayers would be required to fund "more than £208 billion in benefit payments" had failed to make clear that this figure included state pensions.


The matter was resolved when the PCC negotiated an amendment to the online article, together with the publication of the following clarification:

When this article was first posted it omitted to indicate that the welfare spending bill included state pensions. It has been amended to make this clear.
