Mrs Emma Drury-Ward

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: Chat

Mrs Emma Drury-Ward complained to the Press Complaints Commission about an article, published in the magazine, which reported on her wedding day. The complainant was concerned that the article contained several inaccuracies, in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The complaint was resolved after the PCC negotiated the publication of the following clarification:

Mrs Emma Drury-Ward would like us to rectify some errors in the article we published about her wedding:

  • Mrs Drury-Ward and her mother designed and made her wedding attire.
  • She and her Husband do not 'always dress up' nor do they have 'wardrobes bulging with fancy dress'
  • Whilst she and her Husband were treated like royalty on the day, she did not feel like a 'swashbuckling Princess' when she walked, not 'floated', down the aisle.
We are happy to clarify these points and wish Mrs Drury-Ward every happiness.
