Complainant Name:
A woman

Clauses Noted: 9

Publication: Daily Mirror

A woman complained, via her solicitor, to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had identified her in a context which raised a breach of Clause 9 (Reporting of crime) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the removal of the online article and the newspaper made an assurance that it would not refer to the complainant or her daughter in that context in the future, unless she put the information in the public domain or it was put in the public domain through official sources, such as in open court.
