Mr Dave Stanway complained to the Press Complaints Commission that an article, published by the newspaper, had inaccurately reported that traces of animal painkiller had been found in a Findus lasagne, in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The complaint was resolved after the PCC negotiated the publication of the following correction:

In an article "99% horse in Findus lasagne" (8 February) a headline suggested that traces of animal painkiller had been found in Findus lasagne. We are happy to clarify that, whilst this product is currently being tested for phenylbutazone, no traces of the drug have yet been found.
