Complainant Name:
Dr Rachel Frosh

Clauses Noted: 1, 2

Publication: Daily Mail

Dr Rachel Frosh complained to the Press Complaints Commission about an article which was, in her view, inaccurate and misleading in breach of Clauses 1 (Accuracy) and 2 (Opportunity to reply) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The article reported that the complainant had resigned after ‘urging socialists ‘to embrace their inner Nazism'.

The complainant, who described herself as a dedicated human rights activist, emphasised that her comments had related to the ideological roots of National Socialism; indeed, her view was one which had most famously been propagated by Friedrich von Hayek.

The complainant was resolved when the PCC negotiated a number of amendments to the online article.
