Ms Rosie Fean complained to the Press Complaints Commission about an article, published by the newspaper, which she considered to have inaccurately suggested that there was a link between the MMR vaccine and autism in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice. The article was originally published in 2002; however the date of publication was not displayed alongside the article online.

The complaint was resolved after the PCC negotiated an amendment to the article to include the date of publication, and the publication of the following footnote beneath the article online:

This article has been updated to include the date of publication. Research by Andrew Wakefield linking the MMR vaccination with autism and bowel disease has since been discredited.

Date Published: 30/05/2013
