Complaint:

Ms Rosie Fean complained to the Press Complaints Commission about an article, published by the newspaper, which she considered to have inaccurately suggested that there was a link between the MMR vaccine and autism in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice. The article was originally published in 2002; however the date of publication was not displayed alongside the article online.

Resolution:

The complaint was resolved after the PCC negotiated an amendment to the article to include the date of publication, and the publication of the following footnote beneath the article online:

This article has been updated to include the date of publication. Research by Andrew Wakefield linking the MMR vaccination with autism and bowel disease has since been discredited.
