Richard Crooks complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper's coverage of an acid attack on a woman contained an inaccurate description of the suspect in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The newspaper explained that the information came from a police press release which was later revised. The complaint was resolved when the newspaper updated the online articles relating to the story appropriately. The newspaper also annotated its records for future reference.
