Mr Joseph O'Leary on behalf of Full Fact complained to the Press Complaints Commission that the newspaper had published an article regarding the suspected slaughter of horses for food which contained an inaccuracy and was misleading in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The complaint was resolved when the newspaper amended the online article appropriately and published the following corrective footnote:

Mary Creagh originally told the House of Commons that the 70,000 horses were all in Northern Ireland. However, Labour later issued a correction and said the figure actually covered both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
