Complainant Name:
Mr Dean Buckingham

Clauses Noted: 3, 5

Publication: Barnsley Chronicle

Mr Dean Buckingham complained to the Press Complaints Commission about an article which he considered to have been intrusive, in breach of Clauses 3 (Privacy) and 5 (Intrusion into grief or shock) of the Editors' Code of Practice.

The complainant objected to the publication of his family's address, and he believed the article contained excessive detail about the manner of his father's death.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated a letter from the newspaper, in which it expressed its regret for any distress the complainant's family had suffered as a result of the article.
