Complainant Name:
Mr Iain Inglis

Clauses Noted: 1

Publication: The Times

Mr Iain Inglis complained to the Press Complaints Commission about an article which was, in his view, inaccurate and misleading in breach of Clause 1 (Accuracy) of the Editors' Code of Practice. The complainant said it was not the case that he had blamed the Communist Party of China, for his failure to progress to the finals of China's Got Talent.

The complaint was resolved when the PCC negotiated the amendment of the online headline, as well as the publication of the following clarification:

Mr Iain Inglis has contacted us to say that, contrary to our report (March 25), he does not blame the Chinese Communist Party leadership for his failure to reach the finals of the television contest, China's Got Talent. We are happy to make this clear.
